JANE HOLLAND, Yoga teacher

Jane Holland is a passionate yogi with a love of travel, adventure and whole self health and wellness. Her passion and inspiration comes from a genuine desire to hold space for people wanting to create and explore their very best self through mindfulness, yoga and nutrition. Her own journey into yoga teaching and natural health began when she was working as an Environmental Specialist in the mining industry on North Stradbroke Island. Feeling dissatisfied and disconnected to her purpose, Jane discovered yoga serendipitously (meeting her first teacher on a rainy afternoon on a deserted beach...) and soon realised the incredible benefits it offered as a way to reduce stress, create grounding and connect the body and breath. Over time it became clear that something had to change. Taking a leap of faith and a backpack, Jane left her safety net and spent almost two years wandering around the planet, through South, Central and North America, the UK and Thailand. She returned with a new sense of purpose and headed to rural South Australia, began her studies in Health Science (Nutritional Medicine) and  began working closely with a prominent Nutritional Biochemist as well as various other spiritual teachers and mentors.

In 2011 Jane completed her Level 1 200 hr Yoga Teacher training with Byron Yoga Centre and established a successful yoga business within the rural community of the Clare Valley, South Australia. Jane’s first classes in country town halls were a far cry from the hustle and bustle of the yoga capital of Australia, Byron Bay! But the reward was great and sharing her unique restorative/hatha style classes with many beginners who had limited access to teachers and classes saw Jane build a beautiful yoga community which enabled so many to access the incredible benefits of a consistent yoga practice and committed teacher.

Moving to Brunswick Heads in 2013, Jane quickly connected to her new community and began teaching regular Hatha Yoga classes in Byron Bay and Brunswick Heads. She also facilitated workshops at the Evolve Yoga festival and has taught and led wellness retreats in Bali, Thailand, India and Spain. Currently completing her Bachelor of Health Science in Nutritional Medicine with ACNT, Jane graduated from the Food + Spirit practitioner program in 2014 and completed a 50 hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Yin Therapy in Wellington, New Zealand in early 2016.

Jane’s passions are wellness, food, travel, meeting new people, surfing and connecting with nature any way she can! She loves sharing practices that align the body with the breath, creating mindful flow and effortless connection of body, mind and spirit. Her style is a combination of hatha, yin, restorative and flow yoga with classes providing a nourishing and blissful space to delve into self.
